I was wondering about a cargo light. Where is it and what it look like? (I guess I don't have one.)

      • It goes under the rear pass side speaker. The wiring is in place for it. The hatch latch contains the switch for it. The light can be sourced from escorts, aspires, and maybe others. But the hatch latch comes from festys only.

Thanks, I recently found a JY about 45 minutes from here with five Festivas. All have engines. Two have white tach clusters. One with A/C. There's also an '88 323 with a single cam B6/5 speed with 125K. I'm going to make up a shopping list and go back ASAP.

The hatch latch is the latch that opens the hatch door, correct?

Engine and transmission are out of the car. I'll tkae the tranny apart to see what damage has been done. Then it's on to the engine... new oil pump, pan gasket and a general cleanup.

That's where I got mine, too. They have two sizes. One is $17 and one is $14 here in SC. They're in the lighting and accessories aisle. I'm going to measure to see if my hatch light will accept the smaller one. I used the larger of the two for my dome light.

                            • I got one on ebay for $5-7 w/ shipping.
Just search for the bulb size and LED. You'll have to browse through pages to find a panel one like that. Mine has a spring loaded "festoon style" connector with wires that connect to the LED board.

I have a smaller one stuck in at an angle in the cargo light.
