Went to my favorite JY and picked up a complete shifter mechanism for a different type of short shifter conversion I've been thinking about. A carby intake to modify for a Webber conversion and a bad gas sender to try to mount a universal Chevy sender on it.Jack Byrd,

Wrote a check for an 89,000 mile 5-spd transmission. Guy wanted only $150 for it and $25 to ship it. SCORE!
Also got a brand new, still in the bag OEM "L" emblem in the mail (yes, the infamous "L" you guys so ardently admire from afar....)

Fixed the brake cylinder with parts from the new cylinder.
The bolt on the brake line was rounded off, and was too rusted to twist the cylinder itself off without breaking the brake line, so I just took the rubber seals, pistons and spring and put it in the old cylinder. It started downpouring rain halfway through, not very pleasant.
Now I don't have to top up my brake fluid every week.
Well, actually will have to wait until the rain dries up outside and see if a puddle still forms overnight.
I did get some grease on the shoes when assembling, but I was in a hurry because of the rain, will just dismantle it later and use brake cleaner in the drum, I have a different set of shoes off a junkyard car I can stick on there.1991 Ford Festiva BP (Full Aspire/Rio Swap) (337k Miles) (Around 95k Engine)
