I think we should compile a list of our top festiva racers/builds and mail it in.

They might just find it crazy enough to mention it on the show
1992 Festiva... BP-T, Escort G5MR, no crossmember, aspire brakes, Megasquirt, Toyota COP's, coilovers and 6 puck SPEC clutch!

T3/T4 Turbo Power! G5MR and BP since '04!

Maybe we could get one of them to come to FM5 too....this and the build list would be a rebuttal of the narrow general image of Festivas.

If not that, then a Youtube video made at Madness and brought to their attention.

One of the things I've found about Festivas is that there are those who love them, and those who don't. Too many people are too lazy or too inconsiderate to break outside the box and look at the Festiva as anything more than a poster child for poverty. To have Top Fail US look at the Festiva as anything more than sheet metal and a motor is to change who those people are as people. Look at the last article to come out of Raleigh concerning FM4! They called our meet a "love-in". In a country where luxurious simply means big, you aren't rich unless your wheels could be used as spares for Amish wagons, and ingenuity takes a back seat to the "do it for me" attitude, our cars won't be seen in the positive way in which we see them. For a while, there was a KIA commercial here on TV that stated that you could "push in any old piece of junk" and use it as a trade. The car that the actor was pushing across their parking lot was a Festiva. I wrote to the dealership, and told them that I would NEVER buy a car from a company that openly disrespected their own product. I never heard back from them, but I also never saw the commercial again. All this, to say that this is the wrong country for media attention. They'd rather mock the car and kindly smile at our 'cult' so as not to enrage us and our 'small toy cars'. Go ahead & try if you want, but until the gas prices go up to $7 a gallon and the Festiva becomes a car thugs would steal from you at knife point, I think we're wasting our breath.
            In love with a MadScientist!:thumbright:
There's a fine line between breathtaking ingenuity and "That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen!"
