sadly i expected that to be the case as is the rarity of the rest of the cars she likes (pacer, citation 2, chevette, old renaults...) id lean toward finding a chevette idk

wheres dad i thought he got my wides email, were you gonna giver her some ideas or maybe scare her straight... perhaps straight into a festy ha ha just kidding

i just want to know the pros and cons to some of these older compact/subcompact cars such as the non-existance of the 81 escort

I would love to have another. Had a 87 and I so could do things to it now.

^^ If she won't even take an MkII 'scort then I doubt the Rio will settle too well with her either. If it wasn't for her apparent disdain for the '91-'96 'scorts I recommend a BP swap into one of those, then it would be SUPER familiar to you. Thats what we are leaning toward, finding a dead-ish '91-'96 wagon and swapping in a BP/ATX combo. Even stock though, the engines and other systems and the way they work are quite similar to a festiva.
              No festiva for me ATM...

                  update on the omni/car situation

check this out. im a part of turbododge.com forum mostly because the car came with 2 trailers worth of extra parts that im trying to sell, including 2 glh turbo motors incase anyone is interested.

anyway just out of curiosity i posted a need for help to change the head gasket and track down the no start/spark prob. i let the guys know in the post that i didnt have alot of money to offer but would work something out in money+parts.

this was a move of desperation and i didnt expect anything to come of it but i did it anyway and left my number in the post and let it be.

i was responding to a post in the for sale section where my parts are and a unrecognised number shows up on my phone... i thought it was a telemarketer so i almost didnt answer but when i picked up it was someone from the dodge forum and sounded super excited. he called me so fast that i didnt even get a chance to finish my post!!!

so he asked a bunch of questions and told me he was a professional mechanic and he would love to drive the 1.5 hrs and help me do this . i ask him how much and he said eeh... whatever i just want to help!!!!! i just couldnt beleive it (i insisted that i pay him something for his time though). so we set up a date to do this and bam its done. he gives me a very specific list of parts and says well ill see ya on the 25!!! i cant believe it i found another forum community like this one. i thought that the turbo dodge forum would be snooty but i was way off

^^ awesome news!!! There are a lot of us mechanics out there that just like to do stuff for folks, just for the fun of doing it ourselves and satisfaction of a job well done and another car saved! It not just festiva folks who are great people lol. But I will say that the ratio of great people vs. snooty people is waaay higher here than on any other car forum I've ever been on (and I've been on a lot!).

^i agree about that. I have been part of vw and toyota forums in the past and they weren't very nice and god I think the jeep only guys are the worst of all lol

Try hopping onto the Fiero forums and tell them you want to keep the Iron Duke in it instead of a 3800 series II supercharged. Lol their *really* friendly
