I'm content with the thought that someone broke into the 12s.
Fact of the matter is that drag racing was never the festiva domain.
But put a well prepared festiva on a track or rally circuit, and I'm expecting big things, and lots of jaws on the floor.1988 MAZDA 121- B6T + G5MR SWAP IN PROGRESS.

The FE3 can produce 500hp atw with stock internals. I've seen this in person on a dyno run for a converted 323 at one of the cars shows.
But there's more recent proof of this on YouTube.
Either that or they went Nissan sr20 or similar.
I found some more info by DejaVu racing (I do remember that much) they had a BG 332 that ran low 10's at 14x mph... They're running a FSDE in this car
This is a part of what it was done to the engine for this car.

That is an intimidating sight.
Its so funny how different clubs/groups/forums follow different setups.
I've been on the Mazda mimitruck forum and the mx6/probe forum for approx 4 years, and you hardly see the FS being used.
Like you said. They see it as a boat anchor because its bore wall thickness, weak internals, etc etc etc...
They LOVE the FE3, F2t, G6, and even the humble FE.
But yeah. That picture and dyno sheet proves that the fs is a real contender.
I'm very tempted now.... the FS is more than plentiful here in Australia as nobody sees it as a performance motor.
Just thinking of a car that could benefit from that type of conversion.
Maybe a mk1 escort?1988 MAZDA 121- B6T + G5MR SWAP IN PROGRESS.

Exactly.
Here's one of the oldskool 323's from back when Mazda323performance was around. These guys used to post on the forum
It's a 10 second FLAT 323. For these numbers, it was making 600hp. I can't remember if it was a BP or a 2.0, I know originally it was a BP anyways.
Dedicated, gutted track car. They wen through their fair share of engines & transmissions over the years. And turbo setups too for that matter, trying to get more power.
I wish there were more details on the build, I don't know of anywhere that they post now. Thing was famous in the 323 world, the team was in Puerto Rico. It'd be a good start to glean info from for a 10 second car build thoughFord Festiva 1991 WA Model (5 Door)
