  • I need the opinion of current Festiva and Aspire owners.

    Hey all,

I am trying to decide what I should do and could use everyone's opinion. I am thinking about replacing my Festiva with an Aspire:

    current car:
    1991 Festiva
    265,XXX miles
    needs tires, bearings, new ignition
some rust beginning by the passenger wheel well

    possible replacement:
    1995 Aspire
    111,XXX
some rust beginning by the passenger wheel well

What do you guys think? What do you think the Aspire and my Festiva are worth?

    Thanks everyone!
    Matt

$400 - 500 tops for the Aspire. I say keep the Festy, start fixing it up and when the times right, do the Aspire swap.

Thanks for the info! How many miles do you think I have left in my Festy?

all depends on how the engine has been treated...but 500,000 is easy if it was taken care of mechanically,

Nice Aspire, but for the money you would spend, you could do the Festy up nice.

I think they are too feminine looking. Too bubble shaped like allot of late 90s Fords.

Let's just say the late 90s was a dark time for Ford, crap cars with crap styling. Although the 97 Windstar we had was a damn good vehicle when we had it, luckily it was the 3.0l, not the headgasket failure prone 3.8l.

There's a reason many of us call the Aspire the 'Brakeswap'. That's about all it's good for. Especially if you're taller than about 6'2".
Yes, the Aspire despite being bigger in every dimension has less leg room and head room. And it weighs more, and doesn't have any more power, and has a bigger rad (which amplifies the heater issues inherent to the B3).

Ya I'm about 6'3" but I have to say the Festiva fits me pretty good, despite its size. My biggest concern is I seem to be running through wheel bearings alot lately. Not sure what I can do to resolve that.

Yeah I'm 6'4" and my Festy fits like a glove. When I drove my dad's Aspire I had to lean the seat so far back it was close to 'gangsta lean' territory.

Not only are the aspires more feminine looking, the modded ones we see over and over are pink and purple ones (no offense, some damn good examples, just pink and purple more often than not lol)

oh yeah i just installed a smaller steering wheel in my car last thursday I believe. For the first time in my life in any vehicle i can let out the clutch pedal and my knee NOT hit the steering wheel. I am 6'5". For 20 years plus i always let it out sideways almost. Not a big deal for drag racing, you feel it grab, floor it and slide your foot off. Crappy for wet feet on the street...

Ya, I can't drive with the seat leaning back. And I really don't want a pink or purple one...
