i got no door buzzer at all... the dome light does work but does not reflect on the door though (only works if turned on manually)... i don't know if the buzzer has anything to do with the light ? i kinda like not having a buzzer but if you need it to fix the dome light then how do you get it to work

Have you checked the little door nipples? The switches that pop open/push closed when you open and close the door? Power belts working (if they're power)?White '92 GL 5-speed BP, G series, Aspire/Rio swapped, "Nancy"

The belts are connected to a sensor in the door latch. If you open the passenger door does the light come on?
The only buzzer i have is if i leave the headlights on when the key is on.91 Festiva L "Erika" b3t swap on the way

Door Jam switches hardly ever go bad. The problem is corrosion on them. Disconnect the battery, unscrew the switches from the jam and pull them out. You will see that they are a simple grounding switch. Clean the corrosion from the contact points and reinstall. Also check the position of the interior light switch. Should be in the CENTER to work with the door sw. If it's pointed at the drivers door it will be on all the time ( I believe ) Pointed at the passenger door, the light will not come on all. I had the same problem with all the same symptoms. It turned out to be the dome light itself. Save yourself time and effort and make the change to an escort dome light.Comment

no the tach clusters have a headlight buzzer when the key is off and the lights are on.
there should be a buzzer in there when door is open and dome light should come on but I bet its the door jam push buttons.Comment
