all great.. man i was trippin' when i saw the video.. i was thinking Yanks have gone RHD now.. sweet.

But alas, great looking car and you got a bargain there son.. if i were you, wouldn't even consider a paintjob.

stock engine will soon be to the wayside and in for something else no doubt or is it going to be a B6/B8/BP/KLZE/KLDE (LOL at the last two and ask chris 'DAMKID' why, when you see you'll understand) swapover?

Well, from what I gathered searching through the forum here, I am thinking about going with a BP swap correct me if im wrong but is that the most simple? Also, I will be keeping the stock paint (; it's really grown on me and once I get that 1.8L under the hood its going to be sleeper city on alot of ricers!

@ Larry Hampton, I am also wondering the same thing, the bottom of the car was coated with that rustproof stuff they spray in the back of metal truck beds, I even have the Ford Price paper that was in its window at the dealer!

Age has little to do with being a Festiva veteran! there are a few gentlemen on here who completed their second and third engine swaps by the time they were barely old enough to buy spray paint and then beer on their own. I trust them with the answers when I have something to ask which I know they have tackled already

Actually if memory serves, the 1.6 is the bolt in swap.

Wings come up for sale periodically, expect to spend about $150 for a factory one with the screw covers.Ernst and Junspeed both sell exterior dress up parts out of the Philippines.

Easiest engine swap would be to the 1.6L B6 out of a Mazda 323. Same engine mounts and only one or two wire splices IIRC. Maybe unwrap the VAF wire if you are moving the VAF location. Earlier B6s ('87 to '89 323s and Tracers) are slightly different from later B6s ('90 to '94 323s), so there are some minor differences in procedures between them.

Next easiest would be the 1.8L B8 out of a '90 to '94 Protege. You'd need to mod the right side engine mount for that one.

The BP requires more involved right side engine mount mods and a lot more wiring splices, etc. The other engine choices are about as difficult as a BP, or more difficult.

At sheetz today some kids asked me what my plans were with it and suggested a 4G63 swap out a GST Eclipse with a 6 bolt crank? They kept telling me it would bolt right up? Is this factual information or just pure speculation? Can you turbo a b6? I plan on buying the engine and reworking the whole thing all winter before i finally drop it in...

This is my only car and my daily so if it takes more than one day I'm going to have to just hope the highmileage oil stops the leak haha

If you mean the rocker cover/ valve cover gasket, pretty easy.

Will my Haynes manual have everything I need to know about how to change the valve cover gasket?
