If you're just looking to run codes you can ground the single-pin connector at the drivers side rear of the engine compartment, turn on the key, and the check engine light will flash codes.Axlander9289, brother of ThisVelologist

What about those old Ford code readers you can still find at auto parts stores? I always wondered if those would work, but they would just do the same thing as grounding the STI plug. Except it just blinks the code with an led on the reader.Last edited by TorqueEffect; 04-28-2015, 04:37 PM.1991 Ford Festiva BP (Full Aspire/Rio Swap) (337k Miles) (Around 95k Engine)

A good inductive amp meter and a long pricked test light sure help save some time.
A cheap boroscope is fun.
A cheap DVOM wired to anything while you drive. In this case .460 O2 volts is about
Stoichiometric. Figure out fuel mix for power or mileage. Far superior to wide band
sensors and computer systems of course.
