You're really going to town. Good job to you!

If that little festiva could think (and who knows, maybe they can) it is thinking "I thought I was done for, it's a new lease on life" Or something like that.
    Because....45 MPG.

      Thanks!
I love these little cars. I was in high school when I inherited the grey one in my avatar. Its a one family owned car and was bought with 67 miles on it. I learned to drive stick in that car as a kid. And went to my first high school dance in it. Its safe to say Festivas played a big part in my childhood and I will hopefully pass them on to my kids.

Finally wrestled the b3 in the car and got it wired. It was too dark for pics. I'll post em tomorrow. Hopefully it will be plumbed and running in the morning.

Wow. Huge kudos on your fast progress on this fantastic save. I've seen better festivas in the junkyard. It's so nice to see them saved.

So your fluid drained and you ran it dry?

Nope axle fell out and the drivers side drive gear turned sideways in the case. Busted the case and then drained all the fluid.. Its my own fault. Good news is I'm going to get a trans from William when I go.

If only one axle came out and it did that you needed a trans anyway. They should be tight enough that both sides have to be out. Any chance the inner cv jammed on the way out and it broke out the side cover? That just points to other stuff wrong, not what you did. Check your trans mounts.

Both came out. It had to be my fault. Its all good though.

Thanks to William and his extremely helpful gesture the festiva will be mobile by Tuesday. Good guy there.

Definitely! It was nice to meet someone who knows more about these cars than me. Lol your car was definitely motivation for a b6D swap.
