    That's always a possibility, but they were never good even when they were new. I've owned a Festiva since 93', and I don't believe my heater has changed much(gotten any worse) over the years, so I believe that the heater cores are fine in mine.

      I have a small radiant heater that screw into a small propane bottle.
      It has a wide base that keeps it from tipping over.
      I set it on the passenger side floor. Keeps my hands toasty.
      I also do the cardboard trick.
      I'm somewhat concerned about fumes but haven't noticed any loss of motor control.........lol

        I think its my heater core too, even witht he stock T stat, it sucked, and the doors just flex at the top like that because there big and thin, maybe you could bungee the two together :lol: .......
