Man, I wish I had taken some before pics of the interior. Never realized how nasty it was getting sitting still for 2 years. Gotta pull the wheels and put new skins on 'em. And bolt in a new cat-converter, but after that, she's headed for inspection. :hello1: :hello1:

Oh, and bolt on the fix that Chris sent me to stop the gearshift from going through the floor. Hole has been drilled, just haven't bolted it all together yet.

And then I get to put the interior back in the car and get it out of my van.

Okay, took her for a joyride this evening, and now I'm wondering a little bit. Seems kinda unresponsive when I hit the gas, and I'm wondering if this might be because the cat is still not connected yet. Had to order a new one. And she's stalling out on me when I slow down at intersections, but she is moving under her own power. Kinda wondering if all of this is a result of the exhaust not being all back together yet. Find out soon enough.

^^Think I may have answered my own question. There is a pipe that comes off the cat, and ties into the vacuum mess for the carb, so I'm guessing that with the cat being bad before the exhaust hits this pipe, that I would have decreased performance. Will know soon, as my new cat should be in tomorrow. Cross your fingers..

G&%^%)( Cat converter!!!!!  One stupid bolt is stuck on, and I mean good. 3 came off no problem, the bolts for the heat shield were a snap, but one bolt on the back side of the cat is killing me. Actually broke a ratchet and a socket and she ain't budging. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Tho, since I don't need this bolt, think I'm just gonna grind it off tomorrow night. Wonder what it would be like to have things just work like they're supposed to??? Oh well, enough whinning for now.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I realized the other day we haven't heard from Batstiva for a while. I hope he and his car are doing well.

Alive and kicking!! Was out of town for a couple of weeks, switched jobs, had some trouble logging into the boards, been a rather different couple of months for me.

As far as the Batstiva, came to the conclusion that a new carb was needed. The old one had been trying to go bad before the car had to be parked, and only got worse while sitting. She refused to stay running unless I was on the gas all the time, and was glowing the catalytic converter. (Not good to look under your car and see a glowing orange mass right behind the engine  ) So, kinda in a holding pattern while trying to scrounge up a replacement carb. Buying one off of someone on here, should be here early next week, so hopefully will have an update very soon. Gonna rebuild the old carb, just kinda wanted a back up on hand, just incase.

BTW, got her new plates not long ago 2BATCAVE :headbang: :headbang:
