  • No heat in the winter?

My heat problem is only when the weather turns cold.On a normal summer day the car runs at a normal operating temp. I have replaced the tsat twice, but still won't work when its cold out.I had to replace the head gasket and had the head gone through. Everything is new and shouldn't have a problem.Any ideas?

drain your radiator and flush it, then replace the tstat again. it could probally be gunk in the engine/rad messing with it.

Festiva's use a 2 stage T stat. Look at the stickey at the top of the Repair forum.

Check the cable linkage adjustment to the valve body that allows coolant flow to your heater core. Have someone slide the lever from Hot to Cold while you observe the movement down below at the heat box.

Yeah, me thinks b3 madness is on the right trail!
If one of the cable sheathing clips has popped off, then the lever doesn't open or close the appropriate vent!
If you have that much "gunk" in your coolant then you'd have other problems!
Always check the simplest solutions first!
