Why couldn't you mount one of those ceramic heaters that are supposed to be so efficient and mount it in the car with a power inverter. You would have instant heat. with a little duct work, its own circuit, with a power switch it could be turned off and on as needed. - Wow - that was a good idea maybe i will try it myself.

Your average 120v household heater is 1500w...

1500w/12v = 125A... the festys alt is what... 55A?.. In otherwords.. the factory alternator doesn't make nearly enough power to run a heater.

Here is what I would call the bottom line. A festiva with the right thermosat will roast you out. It never bothered me that it doesn't blow out of the dash. we are so close to the windshield in a tiny festiva that it really doesn't matter.

Up here it is a whole different story. It is -20°F to -40°F around here this time of the year... My car certainly makes quick heat... but the door seals exct let the heat out just as quickly as the heater pumps it out.

Can't you replace the door seals?
If they are not ripped or torn roll down your windows and from the inside of the door bend your window frames in a little and see if that helps them seal a little better,it worked for me!

My door seals aren't ripped up or anything, and I've done the window frame bend trick. Yet they still whistle air abit.

Mine would let the air out only if the vent was on fresh instead of recirculate.
