the easiest way is to slot them for a flat blade screwdriver and turn them out - a dremel does the trick nicely took all of 15 min to swap out the entire lock set and ignition

^^That's how I've done them in the past. I used either the dremel or an air die grinder. Either works well

There's no lock assembly left in the cylinder. The previous owner drilled it out and I have to crank it with a shorty screwdriver. It's Ghetto Fabulous!!!

I used an old toyota key to unlock mine. Don't ask me how many times I've locked my keys in my car. LoL

          ^^Now THAT IS FUNNY

I have a big ring of Ford keys for doors and ignition that I used in the junk yard. It usually doesn't take long to find one. I think most people would be worried if they knew just how fast you can find one LOL. I only keep the Ford keys because that's what I personally tinker with. All others are scrapped. Well, except for the imports now that I know some parts interchange

My 1983 toyota celica key will open ALOT of imports.

            And I miss that car.

And just for no reason I want to say if i ever put all my cars that I've owned in my sig. It'd be HUGE.

I thought about trying a Toyota cylinder. I have an old Tercel on the yard that still has the key and the ignition cylinder looks ALOT like the Festiva, but I couldn't get the key out of the ignition. For some reason it is really stuck. Still turns but WOULD NOT come out. :cussing:

^^ Yup, that's how I got the new door keys

Another funny thing: The key that's in the ignition cylinder I got from TONYCASH will unlock my doors too if I wiggle it just the right way...LOL

Alot will do that. The keys from my 88 will unlock my 93 and vice versa. Havent witnessed it yet myself but have read of being able to start some cars as well.

My car didn't come with keys, either.
I replaced the ignition lock with one from an MX-6 in a junkyard.

I want to lock my doors now.
I want to go the locksmith route so I can also lock the hatch.

How do I remove the passenger lock cylinder? Last time I had the door panel off I looked at it, but couldn't really see it or figure out how to remove it.

There's a metal spring lock that holds it in place. You just slide it out from under the lock assembly. It has a raised tab on one side to push against with a screwdriver.
