    If the problem is intermittent, perhaps the engine thinks the problem is fixed, turns off the light, and cancels the error reporting routine.

    What is funny I was thinking about trying this. It only comes on after it warms up. And it bucks like crazy.

        My car also has a check engine light....i'm carbed and have no idea what it could be. I'm guessing it's emissions related or maybe something to do with my choke not working.

        By the way, ^^^ That's 99.9% city driving :cool:

          You can check a Carb car also. With the ignition key on(engine not running) You ground the one-pin connector by the power brake booster. Then connect the positive lead of an analog voltmeter to terminal 6(grenn/red wire) located under the dash and connect the negative lead to a ground and count the sweeps of the voltmeter.
