  • still wont start

    ok guys i got my new but used dizzy in the mail today and put it on my car and guess what still wouldnt start im at a real loss now the coil works the icm works i have tried everything and i still cant get it to start or tro a spark any help would be great thanks guys

        1992 white L, Bp, American racing 13's, stock trans.
        1991 White L, BP/F5MR, protege header, full aspire swap with gr2's, seats, and sway bar, 15" konig's, short throw, escort console.
        1991 blue L, 5 speed.
        1988 red L-plus-all stock.

          ok new update i just went out there with a test light hooked it up to the pos side of the battery and pulled the coil plug tested the black wire i think and got a light but when i hit the other wire yellow i think got nothing not if thats the ground the light should still come on right

            So what your saying is you can hold the coil wire and turn the car over and not get shocked at all? Thats the way I test for spark. Kinda hurts but atleast you will know. I can show you how the coil is wired up on a FI car if that would help. possible you might have some wires backwards.

                i dont know if its still doing it or not but when i would start it and not get spark and let off the key i would get hit once but that was it only when u stop turning the key

                  Ill get a picture of the way my coil is wired up so you can make sure your is the same. Something sounds like odd to me.

                  EDIT- sorry. I was thinking about the way the carbed cars are wired up. FI are straight plug and play so there shouldnt be any backwards wires.

                          Also please verify...it was running perfectly "after" the B6 was installed but then suddenly started getting no spark. And your are absoutely sure your did not make any changes to anything relating to the ignition system that could have caused the loss of the spark. (These questions may seem useless, but they may help your remember something or they may help others to think of something that might help you.)

                            it ran perfect then i installed a radio still ran fine then a few times acted like i didnt have enough power to get it to start hook up a charger then it start right up and ran fine no problem then one day it took a min to start but once it did ran ok then nothing

                              the head lights had problems wouldnt stay on but they would cut back on later and stay on and i broke the switch but replaced it to
