Finally started driving the grey festy today and within 15 minutes it started getting really close to overheating. The rad. Fan wasn't running so I unplugged it to stay on constantly (that's how it was when I got the car btw). Anything I'm missing out on with the bp swap/rad fan/temp sensor etc. I don't want to miss the upcoming 4thtiva meet so please help a brother out! Also, I did do a quick search but I'm in a rush to get to work and couldn't read through all posts.

Cody, how are you measuring temp? I wouldn't trust the stock temp gage. When i put my bp in the gage was high. I swapped in the sensor (in thermostat housing) with my festy one(started reading normal). I also have a mechanical gage.-Greg

If you keep your hand on your rad hose and rev the motor does the hose expand?
If so there's pressure in your coolant system (usually head gasket)
Why not run the fan on a toggle, or constant I might just do that with my swap, but I live in S FL it's always 90 + degrees
X2 On what Greg said I've heard that the Festiva temp sensor is accurate

Also, was your 15minute run with or without the fan running continuously?Last edited by lanemeyer14; 06-29-2011, 04:13 PM."Lane, I've been going to this high school for seven and a half years. I'm no dummy."

he said brown, not thick and milkshake like. i would suspect the fresh coolent has released some scale and rust from the system and is keeping it in suspention (like it should).
