  • Two glasspacks sound?

Right now I have a single 25 inch Cherry Bomb glass pack, no cat and straight pipe, and a 2.25 inch down pipe exiting out the side and it is too loud. Does anybody know if I put another glass pack in line if it will significantly reduce the sound level? I am thinking of installing a shorter 2.00 in/out glass pack to add a "little" back pressure.

Bebandit has a glasspack where his cat used to be, and another glasspack down the line. It's louder than stock, but has presence. His exhaust exits the back of the car.

yes, adding a second, slightly smaller glasspack will significantly reduce the sound, and NOT add very much backpressure. There's a whole description of the physics of fluids and flow as to why, but I'll save that for another time.

They used to add glasspacks to replace the cat(s) on the mustangs at the racing schools. Made them sound really aggressive but not deafening.

I use a GP in place of the resonator and a cheapo turbo muffler. Sounds pretty good, I think.

I was thinking the 2 incher would help illeviate some of the noise and perhaps add a tiny bit of back pressure. Please explain, FB71, the flow dynamics sounds very interesting!

                        TWO 18" Glass packs

How do you guys think two 18" glass packs will sound? I want to eliminate the cat & just go with two packs. I just dont want it too loud.

if your car is too loud just add a turbo... they work great for noise reduction

I'll film a vid of my current set up with one glass pack and saturday or sunday I'll film it with two glass packs and let you compare.
