2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

When or if you replace it just make sure you do a lot of dry fits with the windshield, strength should not be a problem, use some of the old pillars as an insert plug weld and seam weld this will make the repair stronger than the original part if i were home i could give you a word for word on (how to) out of my auto body book....... take lots and lots of measurements but, not really all that hard if you have a good welder with argon and co2 gas

I say go for it. If you do it right it will be stronger than stock. You may even want to cage the car while the roof is off, it certainly would make the car more rigid.
I once worked on a e46 series that had been welded together in the center. The car had been wrecked and a new rear end was put on. You never would have known without pulling the headliner or carpet.

I agree. Not only will you be able to install the cage with ease, but you'll also be able to use that as a frame to rest the new roof on as you move it in tiny increments to rejuvenate the pillars. Then make a trailer out of the donor car.

Ive done it to classic cars but with a Festiva I would get another shell for a couple hundred $.
