No fuel/ power?

I held the choke open and pumped gas in it. It had gas coming from the little tube.
Then I had someone hold the choke open while I started it. It started up alot easier.

Use a screwdriver or something safe that will not fall in and prop the
choke open with it, but don't check the accelerator pump like we did
last time, does it light off like it should?

You mean hold the choke plate open with something. and try to start it without giving it gas?

I put a screwdriver in to hold the choke open. Tried to start it. Had to pump the gas a few this. and it fired up.

That is normal to have to give it a shot.

Your choke may be too tight when cold
probably in combination with a
High float level, like a sinking float.

If it starts better with out doing anything
other than have the air filter off you may
have a bad canister system flooding the intake
with fumes..I assume the air filter is passable..

How do I fix this. I don't want to have to pop my Hood everytime I start my car.

Lol..no if opening the choke helps a whole bunch you re really close to needing
a carb kit and new float. You could try removing the carb, hold it upside
down, pull the side cover off, remove the spacer and choke, then use a can
of carb cleaner and thoroughly clean the bowl and all the little holes. The
needle will fall out side of the seat if you flip the carb over..You will need to
know how everything hooks back up..take pics, use grease crayon, tape and sharpie
what ever.

What bothers me is this problem went away before, and I would like you to be
confident that our little tests were not influenced by this.

If this is a little over your head you might ask several parts stores in your area
who is a good carburetor shop and see who's name comes up most.

If you think you want to dive into this go have a carb kit pulled, pull out the instructions
and look them over before you commit.

Went out this morning and she started right up after 3 tries. I don't know what her problem his.
