It actually says 112205 in the number...I'm guessing he's just going by that.

I guess I'll be taking off the TB cover to find the date on the timing belt to see how old it is. My Festy has 265K.

Timing belt is an easy job on a B3, if your worried about it breaking, just change the belt then

          1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
          1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

A date eans nothing really right? Just when it was made, not installed. Or am I missing something?

True...but with it being a 2005 date...you at least know it's been changed!

My 93 (the one in these pics) had a flange on the crank pully so I had to lower the engine to get at the bolt.. as far as timing marks and doing the work it was easy. But I do have a heated shop and a killer set of tools!

So is your Festy a B3 or not?

I need to change mine as well, trying to hold off doing it until it warms up outside because I have no heated garage to work in.

Good of you to post a picture of the old timing belt along with identifier and manufacturer. For folks that have never tangled with engines other than oil changes and superficial tune-ups a timing belt change on a B3 is definitely a 'rite of passage' for transcending from 'pretend mechanic' to 'become-fledged' auto handi-man. Now you can also begin to appreciate what Festy owners of swapped B8s and BPs have to go through when they try to do theirs.
