Bit of an Oil Leak!!

    That's not the block, its the rear main seal cover. The rear main seal presses into that, slides over the crankshaft, and bolts to the baCk side of the block. Whoever did that job botched it and blamed it on something it wasn't and knew what they did when they did it. (pan gasket does look compromised in your first pics tho..) Probably happened when they pressed the seal in it!!! I kind of doubt it will ever seal right but if you clean all around it really really good and put the black rtv around it it may slow the leak down a lot.

    The bad news is that the engine needs pulled to fix it.
