well i got the carb off after i checked the accelerater pump, it squirted a big ole stream ever time, so its working as advertised,,, the carb needed to come off to be cleaned after all that backfiring it really mucked the carb up black stuff everywhere, i swapped the mains around #1 - .115 and # 2- .100.
That being said everything i have been reading is pointing the fact that its backfiring in the intake points to a lean condition and also the adjustments i have done have left them barely within limits but on the lean side, so i ordered a couple more primary/secondary idle jets , 1&2 steps richer,,,and just in case 1 set leaner,,,,,will be here by the end of the week i hope, wish i would have gotten a Holley carb due to the fact that ALL the auto parts stores around me carry holley carb parts/jets, guess which carb NOBODY carries parts for? you got it the one I'm holding
