It will work. When it comes to the flywheel, there is a torque spec you need to follow, AND you are supposed to use blue loctite. Don't forget the loctite! Specs are in Haynes, I can look it up for you if you want. If you don't own a torque wrench, go buy one. Trust me.

I did use blue lock tight... But Yea should have used the torque reach.. Lesson learned the hard way but I'll be using the red lock tight a semi mechanic told me. And I got my manual in my truck so I'll pull it out to finish it up thanks for the help

Don't want to take it off again when the flex plate bolts came out it messed up the threads a little so I'm doing what it takes so It don't happen again! And to take them out an impact wrench will work fine

MAZDA specifically calls out for a small amount of Black RTV on the Fly Wheel Bolts to help seal . Loctite on those threads is a mistake, but thats my 2 cents. Just sounds like the bolts where under torqued...

Yes great question Chris. There is a tool but you dont need it.Have someone hold a large pry bar or screwdriver with the tip in between two teeth of the flywheel. And position the bar so that it contacts one of the two dowel pins (they align the tranny). Then as you torque they just keep the bar in place. You can also put a socket and breaker bar on the front crank bolt. But when you get used to the pry bar method you can do this by yourself very quickly(but its kinda like patting your head and rubbing your belly in a circle)meaning it takes a little practice......

That's news to me. IIRC, the haynes manual calls for blue loctite, and i have used it with success several times. I would have to consult the service manual for any other information. What source are you using?

Yea I have to do it my self because no one wants to help or don't care about cars. But I think my 5 foot pry bar will give me enough counter leverage why I torque it down with the other arm I just wasn't sure if it would mess up the tranny guide pins. But weighting on my paycheck so I can go buy the tranny and put my baby back together

You can also install a bolt in the engine where the Bell Housing bolts go and use that a a place to set your bar. Sometimes if you get lucky you can actually make a little "Cradle" with the built in washer area of the bolt. Then set the bar in and finger tight the bolt till it gets sandwiched between the bolt and the block. I'm sure you'll you figure it out because you need the car.Just remember to follow the crisscross bolt tightening sequence and use a good torque wrench. If you feel better use blue Locktite, but please dont use Red.
