I'm going to look into this Festy more when the weather gets a little better.

I may be looking for another b3 engine for this in the near future. Or re-build this one if the block is ok.

Well at least it isn't stinky.

I know the history of the Festy is that it sat around for a long time. It had insect nests in the engine compartment when we got it home & the tires went flat too from dry rot. I'm hoping something is just sticking and I can get lucky by working it free.

We will diagnose the problem, I just need the weather to get a little warmer.

Well, I'm going to have to sell 2 of the 5 Festivas we have.

G-dine's 18 year old son got arrested early Sunday morning for breaking and entering and stealing from a carryout near where she lives. He used my 4 wheeler to commit the crime, so my 4-wheeler is gone. Took it for evidence! What a stupid kid! So we need bail money for him and my 4-wheeler. I told G-dine he should sit in there and do the time!!

I'm going to probably sell Blue the one with no rust & the one I have been talking about on this thread. That one was going to be her sons, but not anymore.
The other one is going to be the red GL. The one that had the battery blow up in it.

                Mule,
You're way nicer than I would be!
Let him sit in jail now.
Give him a chance to think about what he did and how is he going to get his life straightened out!
Besides everyday he is in jail now generally comes off his sentence, when/if he is convicted and sentenced.
Otherwise, you and G need to decide how many times your going to do this.

He is G-dines son, not mine so I don't have a say in it. I already got on G-dine to let him sit, but she will not have it, she doesn't want him to miss any school ..... I said to bad!!

Sorry to hear the news, speaking from experience tell her he is in schooll behind bars. Thats the lesson he needs to learn. Again speaking from experience, she is enabling him by posting bail. Do the crime do the time & the lesson learned.

                      Well, here is the latest:

G-dine & her son are waiting on a court date. I got my 4 wheeler back at a cost of $65 (tow fee). The cost of what he did is at most $1500 for the damage to the store window, so far.

As for Blue, the only thing I can do in this crappy weather is put in a new PCV valve. When I would start the car it would not burn any oil till it warmed up. It would run fine cold with no smoke then start idling a little faster, then it would start smoking when it's warmed up.

As for selling any Festies, it's up in the air right now. The blue one with no rust that I'm talking about on this thread would be one of them & the red one I have as a parts car would be the other.

Blues engine is worn out. It runs worse now with it popping and smoking. Oil is in the exhaust pipes.

Not sure what to do now. The car itself is in great shape ..... meaning no rust! I like the stock engines in the Festies, but not sure where to find a rebuild, or rebuild this engine. Not knowing if the head is cracked or something else.

I have replaced engines before, but it has been along time. Last one was an 85' Chevy van back in 92'.

If anyone is willing to help or give advice where to find a rebuild engine would be appreciated.

The Festy still runs and we drove it home over 300 miles when I purchased it! Then, it ran great! No smoke, great power, & ran smooth all the way home......... Now the engine is crap, but still runs leaving a trail of smoke where ever it goes!

Is it a 5 speed or auto car? I nabbed a junk yard engine missing a few pieces awhile back, probably needs the rings unstuck because it sat for awhile, wether seafoam will do the trick or it needs rebuilt is a gamble, but i trust the guy when he said it ran good when he got the car. Ive bought alot of parts from that yard and hes always honest about it. the shell was rotted out really bad. Your welcome to it if you want to mess with it.

It is a 5 speed Festy. It ran good too when I test drove it and rode it home. It was a gamble on the Blue because it sat for years in a garage, but I liked it because of the NO rust!!

Is the engine with you or at the junk yard? I'm willing to take a gamble at it!
