Ok cleaned the coil wire and other wires, tapped on the starter with a hammer and she not cranks. Next problem, engine not getting fuel. Changed the fuel filter with an in-line see through plastic filter. Not getting any fuel to the filter. What your thoughts, fuel relay or pump?

One of the 3 diagnostic plugs near the master cylinder is a fuel pump test connector. It is a 2 pin connector shaped like a "T". Jump the 2 pins with a paper clip and listen for the fuel pump. Report back.

That is your relay under dash trying to start your fuel pump. Fold down the back seat and carpet, disconnect the fuel pump connector and verify you have 12 volts going to your pump while you jump the test connector. If you have 12 volts, your pump will need to be replaced. Replace the fuel sock as well.

Ok looks as if you have power. If good, the fuel pump should have run by jumping the test connector. With the information I know, your pump is probably bad. Just to be sure, re-connect the fuel pump, run the fuel pump test again (with paper clip) while you have the seat lifted. If no pump noise, remove the metal plate on the floor and then remove the fuel pump by loosening the Phillips screws. Look at the condition of the pump, fuel sock and tank. Is the tank rusty, full of debris, smell like varnish? Is the fuel sock plugged with rust or debris? Is there any fuel in the reservoir where the pump lives?

Umm if I am not mistaken, isn't a plastic see through filter only supposed to be used with carb'd cars?

Considering EFI uses significantly higher pressure than carb'd cars, I would think there is good potential there for the EFI fuel pump to rupture that plastic filter casing.

I went ahead and pulled the fuel pump. I have never ran across one easier to pull. i also tried to jump the pump directly with no luck. I was surprised to find very little crap in the tank it was very clean. Any ideas where to purchase a new pump. Autozone wanted $123 for the pump plus 14 for the screen? too much for my budget.

                        Thanks for you help Dale

Glad your tank looked clean. Thats a positive sign. Use Rock Auto if you can wait a few days. Don't forget the sock.
