Just got a festiva for free, been working on it but can't get it started. Thought it had a bad fuel pump but it is still good just not getting any power so I wired it to the lights! It has spark air and is now getting fuel all the way up to the fuel rail but I don't think the injectors are working or just not letting fuel through. Spark plugs are dry as a bone, no fuel getting in the cylinder s. Any advice would be appreciated.

Cant get the Festiva to start!!!
Try starting fluid.
Check your fusible links In the engine bay. Fuel pump is triggered by the air flow meter. Except when priming at the turn of the key.
The injectors are ran off the distributor.Last edited by Flyin4stroke; 09-21-2015, 09:50 AM.1988 Ford Festiva "Sonic" BPT g25mr MS2 standalone ecu, FOTY '11, Best Beater FMV, Fan Favorite FMVI

No power to the fuel pump suggests that it is possible you also have no power to the Ecm. No power at the ecm =no signal to open the injectors.... Look around here for the wiring diagram for your Festiva..... Trace the wiring with a multi meter to the blown fuse or broken wire and repair that and you should have a running engine..... Once that is done attach the fuel pump wiring back to the OEM location and you should have a functional beginning. Good luck.

When u turn the key on try to feel the injectors to see if it clicks. Probably need 2 people. Sounds like your problem. They can be redneck cleaned to get it running if you look online for examples. Need some fuel line and a battery and some gas and compressor.1988 Ford Festiva "Sonic" BPT g25mr MS2 standalone ecu, FOTY '11, Best Beater FMV, Fan Favorite FMVI
