    Lower Control Arm nut/bolt issue

I think I solved this Lower Control Arm nut/bolt issue.

After laying under the car for about 30 minutes staring at this problem, thought I try a longer bolt, but harder steel than the nut.
It worked by slowly starting the thread and tighten the bolt slowly, with some lubricant. Went all the way and it did go tight, but it did not bolt tight, I could feel it just about to strip again, so I left it at that.
When the car is back on the ground, then I'll get a spot of weld onto the bolt, it need never come off again.

The suggested way at a front end suspension place I asked for advice, they said to cut the chassis, replace the bolt and weld up the chassis again. That is extreme last resort, fortunately it did not have to be that way.

Car is ready to put wheels back on.

Solution to Lowr Control Arm nut

      to illustrate :

The above link is there to illustrate the type of nut to use. Of course I will have to get this made up on a lathe.
But I think it beats cutting and welding chassis just because KIA Motors had some oversight.

My design would be a longer right hand thread tube nut, hexed all the way and at the correct length so it is easily held with a socket or ring spanner from that hole in the chassis.

may have to bash out the caged nut and the cage with a pin punch as much as possible, or leave the cage as is. Trial and error I suppose.
Ideally a washer at the end of the tube nut.
The advantage here is a reachable nut made from steel, hi tensile strength preferably and plated to prevent rust.
This will work, there is no other way unless one wants to pursue major surgery on the chassis.

        Another illustration.
        Purchase locally.
I am sure this may fix that caged nut issue on lower control arm.
For the pedantic method, I suppose a nylon type lock nut at the end of the long coupling nut, or locktite.
If the coupling nut is long enough, it ought to be easier to grab with socket or spanner.
This page shows a chart with all length and sizes available, "coupling nuts"
