  • Timeing belt??

Ok, not a good week. When i crank the engine the rotor in the distributor dosent spin. I assume my timing belt broke? Also there is a knocking sound coming from the passenger side of the block when i crank it. Is the engine screwed?

sounds like a timing belt problem... its pretty easy to see if the timing belt is broken, just take loose a couple of screws at the top of the plastic timing belt cover and pull it back and you should be able to see down in there. I'm guessing that knocking sound is a broken timing belt flopping around inside the cover.
      No festiva for me ATM...
