I don't understand why people think they can beat a train! Anyway, that poor little festy does need a lot of TLC. Breaks my heart to see one in such bad condition.

Um, I think they can, at least here in WV, but if it has a salvage title (which most yards around here get) they cannot legally be put back on the road. But I do know people who have gone to a j/y and bought whole cars as parts cars.

I'm assuming here that they did this legally.

I don't think you can buy a whole car from a junk yard in NC. Dean, have you ever experienced this? I asked about a jeep a few weeks ago at one and they told me no.

you just have to be careful since some insurance companys will not insure a salvage title

Depends on how the titles have been handled.
If the DMV/BMV has been notified that the vehicle destroyed/dismantled then they can not sell the whole car.
The title is listed as having been destroyed and a new one can not be obtained.
If in fact, a request is received for a new title there will be consequences to the JY, maybe even criminal charges.
If it was notified that it is a salvage title then they sell the whole car.
The JY pays to get a salvage title.
My guess is JY don't see enough business and profit in it to salvage title a Festiva.

Actually, would think FestivaWes would have a better understaning of the process, at least for MO.

You could always convince them to let you take it out part by part for one low price. Eg Doors, Hatch, Hood... then the rest of it LOL

Edit: You might want to leave the interior...
