  • update on zippy before the "BIG update" :)

well its been a long time between updates on my festiva zippy but i am getting it ready for the b6t swap... BTW thats happening next wednesday MABY as early as Saturday but i dont think that will happen... i got new swaybar bushings...

if anyone wants the part number for these i can get them... there was a bit of work to stick them on but they fit great...

im working on fitting more gauges in the car to monitor stuff...

and i cant decide where to put this boost gauge i got... whats your opinion?

and last but not least... i got a BOV at the junkyard, it sounds awesome... kind of like a greddy type "S" but not quite are high pitched and not as loud...

tomorrow im going to mopac to get more parts like: "U" bends (header and turbo back), O2 bung, fuel pressure gauge, wide band O2 gauge, intercooler, and some other goodies

thats about it, ill update it again when all the gauges are in and stuff but next wednesday is gonna be a big update

they are made by "energy suspension" and the part number is: 9.5161R i had to hammer part of the plate flat... when you get them you will see exactly what i mean... and it does lower the sway bar a bit... mine now hits the frame but i dont notice any noise...

when you get ready to put that eclipse blow off valve on, put the small vacuum hose on and stick it in a vice and crush the case, the spring inside those are weak. then you dont have to recirculate, you can vent to the atmosphere and it sounds alot better that way. If you need advice about crushing the BOV pm me, email me or call me.

Nice score on the BOV - I like the boost guage next to the tac - it looks too heavy with all the other guages and out of place over the coulum - are you rerouting your vents or just caping them off? could you snap a picture of where the bar hits? and do you know if the rubbers come in black? I cant wait to see this thing finished.

I wouldn't use those brackets that came with the bushings. I believe fred had those brackets give out when he slammed on the brakes theres a thread on here about it. When I put them on mine I trimmed them so they fit the factory brackets. Also if you plan on running around 15 psi that bov might start leaking even crushed. Mine did and it ran ridiculously rich.

its to late to move the boost gauge, holes are drilled lol... the vents are never used so im thinking ill just trim out the vents so the gauges will fit and if it leaks the try and block off the vents...

im not to worried about those brackets... they looked strong and well made... and if they break i can sue them lol...

yup... 2 inch and a little sanding to get the extra 1/16th of an inch...

boost gauge installed... for some reason my camera wont focus in the dark

                              before

after (without the gauges) im repainting it... the paint turned out like junk

and the last sound clip of the b3...

another sound clip of my festiva... and yes i know i have a boost gauge and no turbo... thats being fixed in under a week from the time i post this vid...

also i have an idea for my exhaust... im planning on having the cat and muffler as close to the turbo as posable (with in reason...) im thinking of putting the cat just under the oil pan and the muffler just behind it... then run my waste gate dump tube past the cat and muffler, then join it back in to the exhaust so its legal and its not open.... so when i get up to full boost and the waste gate opens it will get crazy loud but still sound good... and best of all if a cop pulls me over and tests the DB level it wont go that high cause ill have a full muffler and cat... and moving the cat closer to the motor will get it hotter for emissions testing and be easier to pass...

what do you think about that idea? anyone even heard about someone doing this?
