Wow Paul, those girls are growing up so fast. I know you are savoring the moments. Some summer sounds from the ranch. A 360 degree vid from the front yard at midnight 7/11/10 . The noise usually peaks mid to late August when you'd have to raise your voice to carry on a conversation. Crank up the volume its a camera recording. I miss this this in the winter when its silent. Click on the black square for the video.

Man that is comforting. That is a song intro/outro waiting to happen.
Yes my girls are growing like weeds! And yes I drink it in. I listen to and truly appreciate the pitter pat of little feet now. I'm so glad I waited to have them.

The other night I was showing Sophia a story on my ipod on youtube. Cinderella I think. The room was dark the light was shining up on my face. She looked at me and said. Dadda you have wrinkles...... like a raisin. Ouch! From the mouth of babes eh?

It's still great when they are 15. Mine's turning 16 this month.

Anyways, there's some great shots in this thread and here's my contribution.

That is SO COOL! You're a great photographer.
The pic reminded me of something, and I had to search to find it: it's a pic of the smoke from the big 2007 L.A. fires, at Griffith Park, taken from the top of a hill in Riverside, which is about 60 miles away. Not a great pic because of the suns glare though. But gives you an idea of what they were dealing with. Ash was falling on cars in Riverside.

Glad you guys like the photos. That thunderstorm shot is a favorite of mine. I don't know that it has anything to do with my ability. I just looked out the front door and said, "hey I think I'll take a picture of that." In fact most of my pictures are similarly shot.

@ deathegg That's quite the smoke cloud. I'm sure everyone nearby enjoyed all the ash dust.

Throw in a couple of dueling whippoorwills, and you could be in my backyard. Love just sitting outside on a summer night, listening.
