Yeah Ive heard they are good eaten, my brother has fixed some and a friend at work eats them too. They are vermin to me, I dont touch them, too diseased for my taste. They are buzzard/vulture fodder after I catch them.

I thought bear was pretty nasty. It has a strong wild taste that you can't get rid of plus its tough.

Thats pretty nice, i love home grown veggies, a guy i work with is always bringing in tomatoes and potatoes for me. Since my kids are getting older i think im gonna tear down the raggedy swing we've had for like 4 years and put a garden in it's place, give my old lady something to do..

What is a good spot for a garden tho? Like how much sun does it need? I could put it in a few spots where it will get sun all day, or spots where it would only be sun in the morning/afternoon.

.... Boy you put my garden to shame. I fed all the deer in the neighborhood including almost all of our melons. They ate everything, except radishes.

.... Your bounty sure looks nice.:thumbleft:

Slim pickins but i'll take it.

Salsa but I cheated. It's more like a hot sauce. Tomatoes, onions, my lemon drop peppers, garlic, vinegar, tomato juice, and I can't remember. The cheating comes from being too lazy to clean a food processor. So I just used the blender. That's why it's more of sauce than a salsa. It's yummy though. I made a quart and a half. The half quart is almost gone.

These dehydrated tomatoes turned out WAY better than I thought. So tangy! It's hard to make myself cut them up and take all the h2o out of them when they are so good fresh. These were the ones that were starting to get bad spots. I cut out the spots, cut them to size, put basil on and they are now drying up. They really remind me of apricots.

And my favorite surprise this year. My lemon drop peppers. I cut them in half, put them in a jar of regular dill pickle juice and POW! They are killer yummy and pretty spicy. I eat a half of a pepper (about an inch) with a meal. I do like spicy.

Nice Paul, thats what we did this weekend. Man, we worked on those seven/eight gallons of peppers all weekend. Gave many away to thankful neighbors but the wife hand diced most of them. I dehydrated at least a gallon. I'll get some pics for you. We had to use some store bought diced tomatoes, ours are tapperin off , but we ended up with two gallons of very good salsa. All the cans popped and are sitting in the pantry. We've still got several containers of chopped peppers for a number of uses and some cleaned and halfed bell peppers for some stuffed peppers sometime this week.

I took a small jar of my pickled lemon drop peppers to a church lunch. I walked around to all the people who knew liked some spice and gave away all but 3 halves. It was fun! I got lots of positive feedback.
