A mere ~38 hours after sowing, most of my pepper and tomato seeds are germinating. WOW.

Finished an engine swap on a tiller. Used a hoe last year and the weeds about got ahead of me. I intend to stay on top of it this coming season.

Good luck on all your DIY groceries everyone!

I'll be by for dinner in a few months and I'll bring the root beer. (Unless you brew your own.)

    Seeded 2 flats of Impatiens, 1 flat with beefsteak tomatos/sweet 100 tomatos/peppers.

I think I'll do the other two flats with petunias and/or more impatiens.

    One flat=72 cells

Which means I have an asinine amount of pepper/tomato plants even if only half of them germinate. LOL I only got one packet of each!

Good start. Only thing I got going is the garlic and shallots I planted last fall. We got an offer in on a house with .25 acre so if that goes well we will share all the fun pics. Gonna have 2 100 foot rows of raspberries and blueberries.

I know what you mean about the Miracle grow. I use a mister to water from the top, ( using rain water not tap water ) otherwise the stuff just floats. It gets better as it ages and has been watered several times. New it does seem to be waterproof. Its hard to grow some things from seed, lots of nuturing.

Getting started. Getting less and less satisfied with miracle gro products. I used to buy it because it was easier to water and handle, but they seem to have changed their formula recently to like 95% peat moss. Drives me CRAZY. once it gets dry, it's WATERPROOF. Very hard to get re-moistened, and this seed start mix is no different.

I have a lot of houseplants with MG and if I let them dry out just a little, I'm screwed and the only way to get it re moistened is to soak the entire pot for a few hours. I have 60+ houseplants. AGGRAVATING.

    Gotta start somewhere!! Lol.

My plot was grass last year. Straight up virgin backyard. Last fall I decided it would be a VERY good idea to rent a tiller and till in all the grass. That way it could rot and de-clump or whatever. I'll till again before planting, but I'm so glad I did that. It'll make things so much easier.

My plot is a 30'x28' square, completely flat save for the back 5 feet

You guys are way ahead of me. All I've managed to do is burn off a brush pile where my garden is supposed to be. That's got to count for something, right?

Thats actually a ground squirrel. The wife bought those because we have the real ones outside. But yes he does seem to be eyeing the sugar peas.

Good job Buck, its fun to watch them grow !

This is my grow room. Pretty handy having an extra room.

I wasn't able to get any of the .10c packs, they hardly had anything left. I got all burpee stuff. I don't think I paid over $1 for any pack, most of them were like .60c.

The 72 cell grow tray systems were $2.50 each

The plants you see already growing are a bunch of houseplants I just propagated.

I'll start seeding tonight or tomorrow! EXCITED!
