Nah just some fishing, thats kinda why i put the rack on the festy, i can bunjy my poles to the roof, also cause everybody that rides shotgun complains about not havimg a handle, so now they can crack the window and hold that! ...and the missing back seat is so i can hold more beer, or maybe its so i cant haul more than one kid at a time, hmm.. Got a hitch so i can pull my boat, and also my grill at the same time! I put the winch on because u never know when u might need one, some of the banks on the river are pretty steep and it gets pretty muddy.2008 Kia Rio- new beater

Oh ok gottcha,ya its nice having a 20 year old car and not worrying about the interior. You obviously must have drove north in that vid ( started out with no snow) and ended with snow on the road banks....What kind of mpg are you getting this winter without the trailer? My average is 30 now but when it hits about 30 deg my mileage starts getting much better. I suck to much heat from the engine with the the heater core. Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

I was in maryland for a short period of time lol. I quit tracking gas milage a couple months ago, now i just stick 15-20$ in when i hit a quarter tank and wait 3-5 days to do it again. I got a feeling the gas milage is gonna get alot worse but it'll be worth it!
Did you get that bpt aspire goin?Last edited by zoom zoom; 03-05-2014, 09:08 PM.2008 Kia Rio- new beater

Not really my car but i guess the pics will fit just as good here in this thread as anywhere.
Muleskinner (mike) and his brother in law eddie (also festiva guy but not a forum member yet) stopped by. I had a JY engine that was sold to me as a "good running engine" and we swapped it into his blue festy. Gomez, bryant, stopped by first thing this morning but had to take off around 1:30 to meet up with jake(88maro) this afternoon. I had a friend stop by right after bryant left, so it was a pretty eventful and fruitful day.
We placed a rockauto.com order saturday and hoped stuff would be in yesterday like they said but the stuff didnt show till about 5 minutes pre engine pull today. We ended up replacing the front and rear main seals, cam seal, valve stem seals, and all the gaskets except the HG. Swapped over the old intake and exhaust manifolds, old camshaft and rockers, and dropped the fresh engine in the hole!
My front yard and side yard was stuffed full of festivas and aspires today.
Pics!
3 aspires and 4 festivas in this pic haha!!

Lol thanks euro, and sketch! It was a good day, the cherrypicker works great! I have a little grade to my driveway and it keeps trying to get away from me! Rolls really good, just wish it was a hair smaller. I got a job to use it to install an aluminum bed on a 02/03? dodge ram friday. Should pay for the picker+++ so thats cool.
My engine bay is a mess so i figured I'd clean it.

Stuck the b6 back in after doing front and rear main seals, and the valve stem seals, ran great for about 360 miles. No smoke on cold starts or anything.
Went to columbus to Karls to do an engine swap with him and on the way home I broke an axle. A dodge charger came by about a foot from my driver mirror so i dropped it to third, felt a pop and the steering went wonky for a sec. It was clicking hard kinda like a grinding noise so i figured i would try to milk it the 100miles home. If i was just cruising steady it wasnt too bad but anytime i hit the gas it would click/grind hard and not accelerate.
I managed to make it 80 miles like that, until finally, on one long uphill grade 20 miles out(convieniently right next to my buddies house) it finally let loose. The axle totally popped out of the outter cv, i heard the bearings bouce under the car, and all it wanted to do was grrrrrrnnnnnnnnnrrrrriiiiinndd... So i pulled off and made a phone call, when all of a sudden the axle boot caught fire! I managed to pat it out after most of the grease burned out and the boot melted off.
An old man appeared out of nowhere and he was like 'theres a crick right there we can get water' lol... Im like 'noooo its a grease fire!!' Anyway the grease boiled out of the steering knuckle too because it got hot. It didnt burn out tho.
So today i spent an hour pulling the b6/e series out of the festy, and i'm probably gonna have to swap the kia knuckles off kiazord because I dont have spare bearings or the care it would require to rebuild a festy knuckle, especially for a festiva thats getting a b6t/g swap tomorrow.
