Good news: oil in the coolant was not oil, thankfully, but a ton of rust and crud. Replacing the radiator hose that blew and hopefully getting a few more miles on this engine before D-day. Operation Bridge Fest is back on for this weekend!

Made it to Hays Bridge today. It was raining like crazy, but Carby car didn't mind!

And slipped over a mile to the Nashville Road Bridge.

First step, done! 6 more bridges to knock out, and I'll be ready to move on to giant catsup bottles and giant grasshoppers and the like!

Sandy Creek Covered Bridge in Hillsboro, MO.
Cant drive on it, as it is now a Historic site. but is one of only a few remaining covered bridges in the US

I wish I could see how close I could get to that one with the car! There's one in Southern Indiana where I grew up where you used to be able to drive but can't anymore. The road is still there, and it's only blocked off with concrete posts, so I can get close to that one if I want. I may have to check them both out!

Talking about the Sandy Creek covered bridge in Hillsboro, MO - it's only about ten miles from my house - let me know when you'll be here and you can come by the house and take some pics with all four of my Aspires. You can park within 100 feet of the bridge and at the right angle you can get both your car and the bridge in the same shot. If you'd like I can go get some pics for you with my car to see if it will be worth the trip for you?

That is a fantastic offer! If you get a chance to take a picture that would be great! Not sure when I'll be able to get out that way with winter approaching, so it may be a next summer kind of trip. But I'm definitely game!

You can drive across the LoveJoy covered bridge in Andover, Maine. That whole town belongs in a museum, and it's worth the drive to go see. I grew up around there.
Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.

I just looked up the route. 17 hours! Didn't realize Maine was so far away! Checked it out on Google Earth and it seems huge though. Even if Carby car isn't up for it, I am.
