now i know mine is nowhere near as extreme as xpnsyd's, but it is pretty loud, sorry but this is the only pic i got right now

it's a pair of 15 inch solo barics L5's with a memphis 1000watt amp, so far i've hit 143db with it, but i need a bigger amp, alternator, to power them properly, and after meeting with ThaWeezord, i got some other ideas for a different box to help as well

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Here's a couple pics of my install... not too terribly beautiful yet, but its by far the cleanest install I've ever done thus far. I used to just have a big black box with two subs and a 1200watt amp that I would just drop into whatever car I happened to have. It had been in two ford taurus wagons, a chevy van, and the little blue during the course of its life. All thats changed now though, because I actually installed it in a custom built enclosure in the back. Don't hate on me too bad for the audiobahn/sony mix, its just what I had to work with... oh yeah, and I only worked on it for one afternoon, so it still got a little ways to go. I know I'm gonna carpet the top of the rear shelf with gray to match the ineterior, but any suggestions for how to finish out the undersize (inside the hatch) would be great. Thanks! Here's pics:

you could probably use carpet too but of a different (darker) shade.

or paint it in the same color as the car.

How do they sound without a sealed box?

My guess.. Would be sounds like it needs a semi sealed box. Those subs are NOT free air subs... The conditions are NOT ideal in the least.. -Kyle

with the rear seats flipped up they seal against the sides of the box (it has sides now, not in the pics), so its sealed, not completely airtight, but still basically sealed. The seat normally stays up, its just down in the pics so you can see the subs and amp, lol, and cause I was tuning the amp and hooking up the subs. They hit hard enough for me to be happy, I can't flip a quarter on the roof like my friend's tahoe can (6000watts, 4 15"s), but if I put a quarter on the roof it will jump up and down  I'm not a sound man anyway, I was just trying to use the junk I had sitting in my room for over a year since noone wanted to buy it from me... most of my expertise is focused under the hood of cars, not in the trunk, lol

Ive been trying to work on mine but some minor problems with alternators :banghead: and going off to college has slowed the progress but this is what ive got

all the work is done custom by me and some friends. I really liked how the CD player mold-in came out.

Let me know what you think!

well so bringing back an old post... but i really haven't put any pics of my amazing system up here yet.... so here goes...

original set up when i first bought the car in Feb of 2007

I then went and reversed and angled the subs... (now I was just transporting the BMF's, so they were not actually hooked up)

I then got a good deal though the wifes work on a 17" LCD screen so i made this little contraption last week (8-6-08)

And now just today I figured that i would try to give it a little better look and feel...

so as of 8pm CDT this is what the back of the red rocket now looks like..

In the next week or so i will be centering it all a little more to begin with, then will be wrapping it all in Black leather, and embroidering a festiva logo in the middle, and then recessing the TV into the wood as well..

                              What do you think???
