ok on my 92 GL it has some what stock exhaust the cat has been removed and some patchy stuff has been put in place of it and it is leaking really bad! i was wondering if i put my bp exhaust on it would it be to much? it was on my red bp car and it stats with 2 inch then when it gets to about the e break handel it goes to a shorty cherry bomb that is 2 1/2 inch the rest of the way out and it goes out by the rear tire on the passenger side. will that be to much for it? will i lose to much back pressure? or it be ok and not lose to much? it has no cat.

Even though you have me on your ignore list.:thebirdman: I will tell you that is probably too large for a stock B3.

It's got to be better than patched up and leaking pipe. I'd run that. At least for now.

really? we have 2 1/2 on our yellow one, but i can tell the big difference in the cars. the GL has more get up than the yellow car. so staying with a the 1 3/4 would be better to stay with? than to go just a bit bigger.

An engine has to have a certian amount of back pressure to run properly. Thats probably why you can tell a difference in power. If youve got it , go with the 1 3/4.

From what I discerned from this thread, you should just get a test pipe made to go where your leaky, gutted cat is.

That or just get it welded up unless it's miserable. Got any pictures?

i don't have a pic, but it is like from the cat back is like in 1 foot sections and all leak all the way to the muffler that is in stock location. i can get a pic, but won't be til tomorrow because it's raining at the moment.

if an engine needs a little back pressure to run well, how do all those drag dudes get those motors to run with no back pressure? The pipes are no longer than your arm.
