my donor case, a four speed that didnt go into fourth gear. Found out the reason why it didnt go into fourth was because a bearing was worn out. So now i have a spare four speed. The cases are near similar except the four speed has a different location for one of the sensors.

Install your shift lock ball and spring in the lower location. and lube up your mounting surface with silicone or similar sealant. Install case half and tighten bolts evenly. I cleaned my case after assembly and then painted. Its up to you if you want to.

Dont forget to install the rest of your balls and springs and sensors. Install, fill with 80/90 or ATF whatever was in it when your drained it. Enjoy.

After i painted it. I went with a gunmetal color. I didnt like plain gray, mexichrome or black. Biggest thing is just take your time and it should go together easy. I did no hammering other than to remove and install the shift shaft/fork pins. Case halfs should come apart and go together easy, you can almost install them without touching anything until they meet.

Very very nice!! I have to try this some day. After my 1st engine rebuild, I suppose.

Much thanks to Ford Fester (and Ice Racer) for the pics and instructions.
