okay, I'm confused.
Is this going to be a B3?, or just a 1.3liter engine?
Because I've seen some pretty hellacious 1.3L motors.
And a hyabusa engine isn't that hard to get to 200hp.
Just a question to clarify the thread.

A Hayabusa engine is also a purpose built motorcycle engine designed for high RPM power. A B3 is designed for fuel economy and as such, there are limitations as to how much power you will be able to get from one given the basic internal geometry of the engine. Joe will be the first to try out a high powered B3 and I can't wait to see the results.
My fuel injected 1.3L in my other car has about 145hp.* Retired Festiva-er*

But that doesn't answer my question,
I've seen a 1987 Yugo gv with a 13b turbo rotary hooked to a custom
6 speed transaxle that ran 12sec 1/4 and topped at more than 160.
And as far as the busa engine look at the legends cars.
1/3 scale circle track cars powered by that type of cycle
drivetrain, just backed with a corolla solid axle.
My point was IF this is just a 1.3, and not a B3 there's alot of possibilities.

It will still be a 1.3, all the ring, gaskets, bearings will all be done. However she will be 12 point port polished, there are other points of the engine that can be done up to achieve more power.
It will be a 1.3 with a turbo, the crank and cam will be modded and custom to suit the car, pistons will be custom built, sleeved and notched, my crank will put out an estimated 10000 RPM, and WHP will be around 2-300 estimated. Top end speed will be high! And torque will be enormous.
The engine will need to be positioned just right, and tranny will be upgraded as well as clutch. I have no idea what she will be called.
However she will be so unique her blue prints will be registered/copyrighted. With Decasta and my tech she will be a quick car.
In about a few days Im going to disclose just a few mods. I know you folks wanna know, and I want to share as much as I can.
As for the wheels, I know spokes and 50 series wont cut the mustard, so I will figure out something.
Thanks for those who have faith in me, we are just waiting on plans from the Decasta's. She will be fast.
Thanks for being patient, Im loosing patience too !!!
hang in there people

If not the fastest it will be "interesting" with all the mentioned mods to see just how much power can be had from a 1.3 Festiva motor. I think we have just accepted that 1.3's weren't worth the time and nobody has really put forth any effort to see what we could do with one. Most everyone here with a "performance Festiva" has gone to bigger engines, although I have seen a couple 1.3's with some upgrades even turbo'd but I have never seen any results. Joe just might be setting new ground here, I wish him luck!

25horseplay is very correct, I at 1st pondered a B6 or B3, but after discussing some things we figured we could build a heck of a motor for less the cost. This engine we are building will be worth alot, but is costing me not that much.
It will be interesting to see what power can be achieved by a measely 1.3
In about a day I will post some of the mods done internally to the 1.3
Its going to be a heck of a 1.3

On far as effort to investigate, I disagree.
Like much of the topics here, not all information on how to prep the B3 for competition exists only in this forum.
Subjects me and others have discussed over the years include rod-to-stroke ratio changes and advanced cylinder head modification for extreme rpm. If one thing I've learned, is it's a safe bet that there have been other discussions that you or I had no knowledge of as well.
I wish Joe luck on this project.Rich Norman

Thanks Rich, check your mail I wrote you.
In this thread Im going to disclose as much as we can on how we accomplish the DYNO reports we plan to provide. So far I know she has an extensive port polish, cam will be mod'ed, I believe they will mess with the stroke a bit, she will have a Flowmaster and I believe 2 inch exhaust, the crank will be quite unique to handle the power and heat and crank will have unique things done to it to keep her cool, the stock oil pump will be mod'ed for a high output, pistons will be built to hold power loads, bottom will be indestructable "whether or not" I dont know yet, top will be unique as well.
She will run a regular octane fuel, will be water and air cooled like a stock motor, she will be able to be upgraded to NOS at any time.
Tonight I should meet with him and discuss some things and get a ETA on her completion. Im going to get as much info as possible for you guys.
Thanks all.

All this on standard octane fuel? You got me interested.
Good luck Joe. I do hope it all pans out.
