    Re: Weber adapter plate.

If your in a state that does emissions then you can't just remove the bulb... I think a lot of emissions places look for when you turn the car on the check engine light has to come on for a few seconds then goes off, so the way around that if you have that problem is find the wire that feeds the check engine light on the dash, cut it and tie it into the brake light on the dash because it does a a check on initial start up.

Another batch of these plates needs to happen. I'm ready to order the weber but I dont want to unless I know the plate is coming. I'm wondering if there's a specifications file that can be loaded to a machine local to me... or something like that. Just in case nobody wants more from this forum anytime soon. Now that's a sticky thread.

Well i see 2 problems with that... 1st is that the machinist here isn't gonna just give away the file, he wants to make money. 2nd is if you did have the file you would run into the same problem I did when trying to just do one plate... They don't want the machine down for just making one plate, so they will charge you a lot to just make one. I will just have to have another batch made. I'll call the machinist today.

Greetings, I port matched my new carb adapter yesterday and noticed that in one area on the narrow the seal surface is very small. Have you had any problems with leaks here. I picked up a pack of JB Weld and will be building up the hollow space under the plate in hope of averting any future problems. Shifting the carb towards the back where the material is thicker and very little is removed would alleviate the problem and should be simple to accomplish in the computer program.

                Re: Weber adapter plate.

Well if you opened up the carb adapter more that was not necessary because the weber carb butterflies are that size and actually a little bit smaller.... So making the hole in the carb adapter plate larger will give you no benefit. Even on my adapter that I sent to Matt with the intake to be port and polished he barely removed a Little material on the bottom just help the flow a little but opening the hole bigger won't do anything.

I didn't do anything to the plate, I simply matched the intake to the hole in the new adapter plate. I'll get some pics next week when I go back to the garage.

OK, got some pics. carb adapter 001.jpgcarb adapter 002.jpgcarb adapter 003.jpgcarb adapter 004.jpg

Each end is shown with the adapter plate and without the plate. The black line on the plate is from the Sharpie I used to show what needed to be removed. Having studied it some more, personally, I'd move it approximately 2MM toward the big end and put JB Weld in the trough. But making a plate for anyone to use would make that inadvisable. I'm guessing most people would not even port match it and I'm sure some wouldn't. So all that said, great job.

                      Thanks,

Well the trough doesn't do anything... And the gasket goes on both sides of the trough.
