    Re: Weber adapter plate.

The gaskets that come in the weber kits are the thin type and your supposed to put grease on them... I think that's just standard for carb gaskets but I'm not 100% sure on that....

Drddan, that looks pretty good for doing it yourself... My first time I made my own and the aluminum was too thin so it bent a little and had a small leak.... Then because it was so thin, over time the screws stripped out... Lol that's when I was like well I do electrical work for a machine shop that builds robots, I bet they could make this part really easy.... Then the guy that worked for them and made my first plate started his own machine shop and I helped him out and wired up his machines and he said he could make more of the plates for us.

I received my plate today and it's very impressive. I was an industrial designer and later became a machinist and programmed and ran Hass and Hurco CNC milling machines, so I know a well done part. Prompt shipping, couldn't ask for anything more........that is unless you can get me a discount on a Redline kit.........lol Guess I've got to go spend more money now.

              Thanks,

Drum, Paypal has a charge but it's more than one dollar. I thought you were aware and I just wanted to give you part of it. I think it's around 2 or 3 dollars, but it may change depending on the amount paid.

You should check your Paypal receipt to see what it was and charge the extra accordingly.

Also another question about the weber swap, does it cause an instant check engine light?

Mine didn't but I don't have a check engine light... Lol I think the 89 had a check engine light and the 88 did not

Most probably. The CEL came on in my 88 with the weber swap
I pulled the instrument cluster, pulled out the little CEL light bulb. Problem solved!

Your 88 had a check engine light?.... I wonder why mine doesn't, I even checked the gauge cluster and it doesn't have a spot for a check engine light. I remember looking at how to check trouble codes and you had to use a test light with the connections by the brake booster.
