  • Just get an EGR gasket and a small piece of 1/4" aluminum plate. Trace the gasket, drill the holes, cut out the pattern and file it smooth, bolt it on with the gasket. Done.

    • You only need to block off the EGR on 1st gen. B6's. B3's are fine the way they are. I found that they will leak vacuum kind of by accident when I put my new intake and Escort carb on my car.

      • Ok so SOT but where is best to purchase a kit or individual jets for my Progressive Weber? I tore into it this WE & it may be a knock off since nowhere on it does it say maid in Spain & I found a few of the jets installed had NO markings (yes I cleaned & checked thoroughly)?

              • The adapters are $80 USD with shipping. I believe the Escort carb is from the early 80's - maybe someone with more experience with the Escort carb can chime in. A search may turn up some more info as well

                  • I got my escort carb from ebay it was nos and said 86 esort in the Listing. For only 78 something. I ran that carb on a b6 and it ran great out of the box it may need a rejet for the b3 . But I'm not sure

                    • 1983-85 carby Escorts were 1.6L. The other carby was the 1985-86 1.9L motor.

                      • Yeah the ebay seller must have been off it said I was for a 1.6l engine. So 83 to 85. Sorry for the confusion.
