  • I thought I had a B6D, but not everything is bolting up the same. Is this a B6ZE?

    Block is wider at bellhousing

Block is wider than G series gearbox.

Where would I find an oil feed on this block, to run to the turbo?

    • Hmmmm that intake manifold looks like what came in the mx-3 here but that wide part at the block looks like a z series block. What did that come out of? You're probably going to have to T off the oil pressure sender on the intake side of the block and run a line around to the turbo.

      • The guy I got it from had purchased it from the wreckers, he was told it was from a 1995 Ford Laser.
VIN number of the car it was pulled from is on the receipt, but a VIN search comes up with 1990 Mazda Unknown.
Block has a large BF stamped on intake side. Head is stamped with B551 LI-2

Can you see the serial # on the motor itself? Then it's just a matter of looking it up. You could go to a dealer for the info, and maybe take your pics of the motor for the mechanics to look at.

            • When I search that casting number it comes back as a b6ze from a mx-3 (eunos 30x to you). We never got that engine in any other vehicle but down there ford had a lot more engine/chassis combinations. I think one or two people have swapped that engine here but it was a long time ago iirc. What wiring/ecu are you trying to run it with?

              • Capri turbo wiring/ecu. Might look into megasquirt or similar, depends how many issues I run into.

                  • Yep but it's a bp 1.8 not a b6 dohc like what's in this thread.

                    • Going back to nearly the beginning of this discussion.

I've got two b6t engines here with factory oil/air separators.
One is out of a Capri and the other is out of a Mazda 323 gtx

I'll get pictures if of interest

I'm sure others here would as well.
