  • Power window upgrade

Im getting ready to attempt my power windows upgrade, hope Im not getting in over my head. I probably should be happy with smooth working manual cranks on a festiva but I must try. Its high risk /high rewards. Anyway Ill keep you posted. Got this cool factory tinted glass to reinstall while Im at it.

1.I am sure you will get it to work.
2.I NEED to do this upgrade eventually so please let me know what parts you are using or if there are "new" parts that will fit.
3.Don't forget to take more pictures than are necessary.
4.Is there wiring already in the Festiva for adding this (doubt it) or did you have to get wiring for it? If so, where does it hook up?

Sorry for all the questions, Thank you for all the help you can provide?

Found at least four major differences between the pride power regulator and the festiva manual regulator. See below, All can be corrected by swapping tracks.
            Top mounting bracket is different

            Bottom mounting point is different

Triangle motor mount is different from crank

Different spacing of the holes in the glass

                1. Im not so sure, its a major, for me.
                2. Parts are from a KIA Pride ( used ) other people have done this but probably not using these parts. I think Stefan and Elcamino1 have power windows but I dont know what parts they used.
                3. I always take lots of pics
                4. No wiring in place, I do have a harness though.

Has anyone on here tried the universal window kits? Are they worth it?

                            CHills,
I have a universal PW kit in the garage piles. Last used on an 82 Escort. The motor is in a housing that mounts on the interior side of the door panel and drives window crank shaft. Several adapters were included to fit various cars. I'll try to dig them out for a few pictures.
The manual regulator would have to work a lot smoother and easier than those my 90 in the winter, for the electric unit to move the glass.
