Delrin shifter knob - calling eurotiva!

That's the hard part. one of the joints in the shifter linkage is a pin ,that is pressed on one end. To properly install bushings, you must grind pin, remove pin, replace bushings, reassemble, and tack weld the end of the pin so it doesn't come out. The other 4 are simple. My problem with making them on my lathe, is that it's too big to make those tiny parts.

I can take .030 off of the out side, but they must still be pressed in (hammer) and then the hole drilled out.

The bushings are $0.92 for 2 @ lowes.

Ah, okay - cool. You may recall the other thread, with this guy stating:

i paid 3.33 per bushing and i replaced all 6 there's 4 on one end of the linkage and 2 on the shifter end you have to cut the straight pin on the tranny side and get a shafted bolt and locking nut to replace it if not your replace all the others for barely any results cuz the one still gives play

I'm looking at my FSM on page 16-43-2 for a sense of what we're looking at here:

I've redbox'd four round bushings that I've found so far. I haven't yet found the other two... are they on the stabilizer rod? As for the pin requiring cutting, is it the one the shift rod hooks up to on the transmission side? AKA between the two bushings?

The shafted bolt/locking nut idea interests me more than tack welding, since I don't have that sort of hardware. As for cutting it, do you think my dremel would be up to the task?

If you could modify/reupload my picture with some visual guidance on the location of the 6 bushings and the pin (or bolt/nut replacement), that'd be fantastic. I'm a big-time visual learner, and these FSM's have been most useful to me thus far. Thanks, Greg!

Actually, easier than machining one out of a thermal plastic, because all you really need is a nice piece of wood, a good knife, some sand paper, some steel wool, and a drill/drill press to make the hole to thread it onto the shift lever.
