Shouldn't be too much material removed. 6" wide is plenty with 165/50's. The only info i e found says that they're +40 offset which seems extremely high. There's one on eBay for really cheap, might buy that one and see what it'll take to fit them and if I can round out the cap area without removing too much material.
Those Maxima wheels are boat anchors. Clay (AZGTX) has a set stashed away and I thought they were sweet until I lifted one. lol

Well darn. They can't be as heavy as the steel/polycast Escort wheels? They slowed the car down and killed off about 3-4 mpg over the stock wheels.

They even look good all dirty.

Note: I welded the cap register and removed the cap standoffs on these and smoothed them in a late like what Theastronaut is talking about doing. Then I had them powdercoated. I like this look better than what they originally looked like.

I've found a retailer selling Nankang NS-2R in 165/55-r14, for around $80-$85 a tire depending on UTQG (Even though they very seldom if ever list the tread wear ratings on their website). Though from what I've heard from one or two former customers the retailer is shit about keeping up with their stock, and tend to be a bigger headache than what most people will tolerate.

What I'm looking at is these:

With Federal Formoza FD1's on them. The weight reduction should be significant.
