Chris, I wasn't critisizing your build. I just don't want you to get hurt due to a miscalculation. I like the idea of moving the booster up, vs to the side. Good thinking!

I've thought this from the start and although you've mentioned header tape, what about a heat shield?

yes, but he'lll be increasing the leverage poing by moving the assembly virticaly (rod moved closer to pivot point) so a larger bore (like the EGT master) would be in order to maintain pedal effort. if rod is moved closer to pivot point, stroke is lost so bore size MUST increase to maintain volume movement.Originally posted by Christ View PostIf you decrease your leverage point, you want a SMALLER bore to make up for it, to bring the mechanical advantage back to stock. A larger bore will just make it even harder to push.

Sounds good to me!
I couldn't remember which way it went as far as bore size vs stroke...that's why I just got lazy and said a different bore size LOL. I used to be able to quote that stuff from memory when I was into building big Broncos but it's been a while
At ~6000lbs they need all the help they can get.
The Aspire booster looks a good bit larger than the Festy. I started to pull one out to try on my last trip to PAP but after pulling all the suspension and a set of seats I had pretty much had enough of the heat.
A larger bore will require more effort but less stroke/travel. Maybe a slightly larger bore with the bigger booster would be a "happy medium" for you. I'd try the bigger booster first and see if it's adequate. If not, move up from there.Last edited by Zanzer; 07-08-2011, 09:48 PM.

Now that you mention that, ya you'd be right........ well i guess what i can do is wait until i have the booster mounted where i want it and test it out, then decide if a different master is even necessary
Just another thought, maybe a bigger booster could also help compensate for the dereased leverage?

^^ Haha! Thanks! And I wish! My paychecks would be a lot bigger if that were the case LOL
I just spend WAY too much time thinking about cars. Sometimes that's good, sometimes bad :confused3:

Maybe that'd be a reason to upgrade to the aspire m/c, didn't even think that far ahead yet lol thanks zanzer

What if you went with a different bore size MC to help make up for the loss of leverage? Push more fluid with less effort. Just thinking out loud here.
