I like your midshaft mount, probably the best way to do it. Thats how ill do my mount on my next swap. And about crank pulley clearance.. are you going to have a/c? why the extra pulley? you could use a double v-belt pulley for more clearance maybe?

This is the reason why i thought to re-locate the alternator but it'd be easier to knotch the frame

My alternator was sitting that close on one of my BP installs, any time I went around a sharp corner fast it would hit and make a fun noise.
